My Dad has it right. He’s had it right all of his life actually … and he’s passed on the message ….
Growing up, he told me that inside of myself, there was a place where no one could go. A soul space, if you will. In there, no one can reach you. Disturb you. Join you even, unless you allow them to do so. He explained to me that inside his room, he painted. Listened to music. Sat in silence and contemplated Life, thanking the Universe for all he had. It’s where he went to pray . To cry. To complain. All on his terms – and all in his own time. My father who is now almost 83 years old has had many challenges to overcome in his Life. Loss. Death. Health woes … as we all do, I suppose. Yet he allowed himself time to visit his secret space, hundreds of thousands of times – to recycle his energy and to find hope where all else seemed lost.
I’ve had a secret space all of my Life. I still visit it – dozens of times of day. As I often escape, I smile, if only for a few seconds , and there I am alone, yet often choose to be accompanied by a very few whom I allow to join me in my thoughts and my heart. I invite you to create such a space for yourself – a happy place – if you will – and visit it as often as you wish.
I’ve guided many people in creating their own soul space and if you haven’t done so yet, here is how you COULD start … there are no rules. This is your space. For YOUR moments. To facilitate things, I always suggest that you find THE moment of the year that made you smile the most, the one you want to immortalize forever in your own self. Perhaps you were with someone. Heard a song or a phrase which left you breathless. Happy. In love. At peace . You get the idea. That ahhhhhhhhh moment …. Then fill that room with that very feeling. Decorate it. Bring the persons whom you adore in there with you. Or be alone, with your own self. Sit back , smile and enjoy. Frequently. It’s that easy. That simple and yes, that effective.
As Christmas approaches, many will be celebrating and for some of us, it will be too much to handle. I plan to retreat to my soul space, to recuperate and remember why I love my Life. Why I am so blessed and how Life really is Good ….. Guests inside my soul space will be scarce, and yet, I will be filled with their presence, their kindness and their warmth. I will close my eyes. Breathe deeply. Smile and Love – for such is the power of my soul space.
May you find the calmness which your Heart and Soul can offer you within yourself.
In a world plagued with fear and negativity, we find ourselves looking for answers in the most unlikely places. Many of us travel the World in the hopes of finding refuge and of perhaps changing our thought patterns , which, of course is very helpful in the short run, however, to truly change oneself we need to go within ourselves …. in our hearts and our spirits – in our true essence… September 26th 2015
I am not claiming these words or ideas as my own – they just happened to pop into my consciousness as I was getting ready to write about a totally different subject. I’m rereading them – carefully. I’m noticing how this can so be about me ( after all, it just came to ME – right ? ) I’m reflecting upon my Life at the moment and I can so make changes, simple ones, to go within myself and to make that small universal difference.
My father reminded me of this at the beginning of the week of what author John Masefield had said: The days that make up happy , make us wise ….
I’m meditating on these words today … and you should too. Go back to a day that really , intensely touched you – a moment even – which made your heart and soul sing. Focus on the feeling, the energy …. See how you shine and vibrate to that positive energy – then think about HOW you can recreate another moment, similar or different in nature – and bring it into this current day.
We’re all connected. If someone hurts – we hurt. If someone cries, we feel sadness. What if we all smiled and tried to make a difference – what if we went to the beat of a different moment – a happy one – filled with hope and happiness … Imagine? Start with yourself. Change those thought patterns. Get up . Dress up and Show up. Then look around in your immediate circles. Live. Laugh. Love. If you have blogs – or pages on social media – fill it with happy pictures. Deep thoughts. Meaningful messages to change the vibration of yourself and of others. One of my best soul friends always reminds me that words hold power. Use them wisely …. When speaking to others, writing, thinking … words have POWER – and can change who you are and outcomes around you – why not make it the change that you want it to be around you ( Buddha said this himself … )…..
Have a most beautiful day ….
Live. Laugh. Love.
Note from Anne: while at an event held in Toronto by John Edward last Wednesday, my Guides came out and asked to be referred as the A-Team … I smiled and said – all right. ( I chose not to dispute this one … ) You’ll see this expression from now on …. and that’s what it refers to …. 🙂
From my Father’S Journal – May 15th 2007
I took it
And passed it on to my brain.
It cascaded down to
James, John , Paul, Marie …. ad infinitum
Thus , is knowledge
Passed from one another
In our Cosmic quest
For truth –
i had wandered all night through Dreamland –
tired – lost and confused – until
one of my guides found me and took my hand
he was the tall one – with the
long dark hair – silent, still and strong
who always appears when little me has lost
her way – and wonders what has gone wrong
he stopped time – and just waited for
me to calm down – and to listen –
he didn’t talk or move – just pointed at a door
which – i later learnt – had not yet been built
we walked through it and i examined my surroundings
recognizing many of the elements in it
for they were from my Life – but with a twist
and suddenly, I had come home –
One of my favourites for you … enjoy !
It’s that time of year. Plants are all on sale. Canadian Tire was holding their sale yesterday and it was quite exciting. 50% Off everything. I showed up with hope and left with some treasures. A huge geranium – in perfect condition – and a full flat of gorgeous purple flowers ( perennials no less ) for $10,42. A HUGE steal… Especially since my yard is being revived with new black dirt and mulch having been neglected for years. Life had taken over and having a backyard oasis was not on the priority list ….. Until this year … And the result is beautiful …
But the true treasures of this shopping trip are not the gorgeous plants which I found for little money. It is about the story about the woman who was waiting in line in front of me to pay for her purchases. She was there with…

I escaped real Life today. I saw the sun rise through the fog and a symphony of birds accompanied it . Throughout the day, as I walked on the grass and sat by the River, I reconnected with Nature – becoming once again one with her. There were no responsibilities . No paper work. No one to answer to but myself. It was blissful.
Tonight, I built a gratitude fire … I watched it burn for a good 45 minutes – as I meditated on my blessings and of how fortunate I am to have all that I do . I am truly humbled by the blessings the Source has given me – and for that – I am truly grateful.
As I head off to Spirit World later on tonight, I will once again smile and think of all the moments which made this day incredible . I will breathe , head off to sleep and begin again tomorrow.
Is it time to forgive yourself if you did ?
The saddest thing in Life is knowing that, deep down inside your soul, you sincerely would not want, nor wish in any way, with nor form , to harm anyone and knowing ultimately that in fact , you did …
